Fr Rob, Helen, Susannah & Tom

 


Fr Rob is the 45th Rector of Hackney. He was inducted in 2007, having spent 6 years as a Team Vicar in the parish of Old St Pancras, acting as Parish Priest to the Somers Town and Kings Cross areas of Camden.

Fr Rob grew up in suburbia, and was educated at Hampton School. He then worked as a youth worker, and as a care assistant before reading Geography at Durham University. Fr Rob then worked as a Pastoral Assistant in the parish of St Luke's in Wallsend and in the Cedarwood Centre on the Meadowwell Estate, North Shields. Fr Rob was theologically trained at Ridley Hall in Cambridge, and then served his Title Curacy at the Shrine Parish of Our Lady of Willesden following ordination in 1998.

Fr Rob is married to Helen, a Primary School teacher, and they have two children- Tom who was born in 2004, and Susannah born in 2008.

 

 

Fr Chris I was born in the year of the Queen’s Silver Jubilee in Northern Ireland, as a family he moved to the Isle of Man in 1986, and he went to university in Wales in 1995.

He trained for ordination at Trinity College, Bristol, and was ordained in 2004 in Rochester, where he served as a Curate in Tunbridge Wells, and Team Vicar in the Medway Towns for 4 years.

He has an addiction to tea and diet coke, and likes watching the X Files, Miss Marple, Yes Prime Minister and he's a big fan of Harry Potter. He enjoys good food, cooking, traveling, reading, politics, visiting art galleries, and trying to learn Korean…

Fr Chris is married to Hannah who is from South Korea. Hannah studied Christian Education and Social Welfare at university and is a licensed Social Worker in South Korea and they have two children.

They are delighted to be a part of the St John at Hackney team and to be living and working in glorious Hackney.
