John's funeral will take place at St John at Hackney on 27th February 2012 at 9am.  Please gather as we say goodbye to a larger than life member of St John's Church.

GOVERNANCE
The Standing Committee are currently devising the governance structures for the café, market and St John at Hackney Enterprises Ltd. In addition, they are currently reviewing the building repair and development design brief. These are significant pieces of work, so please keep them in your prayers. If you have any questions, please speak to Fr Rob, Vastiana, Peter, Stephen Escritt, Helen Wickham, Fr Chris, Tracy Browne or Ruth Best, as they make up the Standing Committee.

PROJECT NEWS
Please take a copy of the new project newsletter this morning. This outlines the significant developments in church over the past few months. It especially gives details of how the building is now being used following the reordering. The results are quite staggering!

APCM
The Churches Annual Meeting will be taking place on the 22nd April. Please begin to think now as to whether you might like to join the Church Council. If you need some more information, please speak to Fr Rob, Vastiana or Peter.






RECTOR’S AWARD
Thank you to those who have already nominated. Please continue to bring names forward to receive a Rector’s Award at the Annual Meeting on Sunday 22 April. If you know of anyone who has offered an outstanding contribution to the life of St John’s in the last 12 months, please let Fr Rob know, along with your reasons.

Please take a copy of the Lent Leaflet home with you this morning. These outline the plans for our provision this Lent.

NEW PRAYER OPPORTUNITY
We all live busy lives, and St John at Hackney is responding! If you have urgent prayer requests for either yourself or others, you can now email them to prayer@stjohnathackney.org.uk or text them to….. Please use this new service, and encourage others to do the same.

LITURGICAL EXPERIMENT FEEDBACK
As from Ash Wednesday, there will be an opportunity for everyone to comment on the development of our worship over the last year. Please be honest and please be prayerful through your responses. This opportunity comes to an end on the 10th March 2012. Comments will then be discussed by the PCC, and they will inform our ongoing mission strategy of making Christ known in Hackney.

CHILDREN’S WELLBEING
Please keep Sandra in your prayers as she meets with the Children’s Society to look at developing projects which relate to children’s wellbeing in Hackney.

WOMEN’S WORLD DAY OF PRAYER
On Friday 2nd March at 7.30pm we shall be celebrating the contribution of women’s ministry. We shall be welcoming The Rev’d Betsy Blatchley as our celebrant.
